Doctor and cancer specialist. Chief physician at the Cancer Clinic, St. Olavs Hospital, with responsibility for the treatment of lung cancer. Main position as a researcher at the Department of Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine, NTNU. Department group leader for cancer and patient-centered research.
Senior consultant at the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, Stavanger University Hospital with responsibility for the treatment of lung cancer. Has participated actively in several studies including clinical lung cancer research directed by the Norwegian Lung Cancer Group. Supervise Junior Registrars for the specialty of internal medicine and lung medicine.
Scientific work:
Exercise testing and advanced pulmonary function testing in top athletes as well as in patients, in addition to conducting training interventions in different populations (during pregnancy, cancer patients, healthy individuals, after lung transplantation). Has participated in several studies regarding CPET in different patient populations. Project leader of two randomized controlled trials; “High-intensity training after lung cancer surgery” and “High-intensity training after lung transplantation” (ongoing).
